Doppelherz pure organic psyllium husks support a healthy diet rich in fiber.
Highlights of this product:
- Supports a high-fiber and healthy diet
- Psyllium husks in pure organic quality, without additives
- Supports natural digestion and intestinal health
- Tasteless and suitable for long-term use
The seed shells of the Indian psyllium (Plantago ovata) come from controlled organic cultivation and have a high content of soluble and very well swellable dietary fiber.
Psyllium seed husks support natural digestion and intestinal health, as they can bind many times their own weight in liquid.
Indian organic psyllium seeds are well tolerated, easy to use, tasteless and can be conveniently integrated into the daily diet. Psyllium husks are suitable for long-term use.
Psyllium husks - multi-talent for a healthy diet
Indian organic psyllium husks (Plantago ovata) are rich in healthy dietary fiber.
But what are "dietary fibers" actually?
Although dietary fibers are indigestible fibers for humans, which are mainly found in plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts or whole grain products, they do not "burden" the body, but support, among other things, a healthy digestion!
Psyllium husks are a very good source of dietary fiber with a special property: the mucilage contained in the husks has a very high swelling capacity, which can swell many times over in the digestive tract. This leads quite gently to an increased stool volume and a stimulation of the intestinal movements - digestion is supported quite naturally.
Another advantage of psyllium husks is the low amount of calories, so they are also ideal for healthy weight loss. Dietary fiber from psyllium seeds has a satiating effect while providing hardly any calories. However, since they increase the volume in the gastrointestinal tract, they can curb feelings of hunger.
Psyllium husks cause the blood sugar level to rise only slowly due to the many dietary fibers. Cravings can thus be avoided and a pleasant feeling of satiety automatically makes us eat less.
Why does the product contain Indian psyllium husks?
Psyllium husks can come from different cultivation areas. Psyllium husks "Plantago afra" are native to Southern Europe, North Africa as well as Western Asia. Shells with the designation "Plantago indica" come from Southern and Central Europe, the Caucasus and Siberia.
The "Plantago ovata" psyllium husks used by Doppelherz in pure organic quality are grown in India and Pakistan. Indian psyllium husks have a particularly high quality, because the swelling capacity of Plantago ovata is higher than other varieties.
Psyllium husks are a natural product and are harvested by hand and gently dried. A special process enables the separation of seeds and hulls, thus ensuring a product with a particularly high swelling volume.
Of course, we pay attention to possible impurities in our products: Regular laboratory tests and analyses take place from the harvest to the finished product in order to offer the usual high Doppelherz quality.
The entire supply chain from production to packaging and marketing is carried out in accordance with EU legislation on organic farming and has been certified accordingly by an approved organic inspection body. The product is marked with the EU organic logo and the German organic seal, making it ideal for customers who value organic quality.
Consumption of Doppelherz pure organic psyllium husks
Psyllium husks are gluten-free, lactose-free and have a neutral taste. With sufficient fluid intake, they are very well tolerated and suitable for long-term use, even for diabetics.
The intake of psyllium husks can be handled differently. Some people add them to yogurt, a protein shake or on a salad, while others stir 1 heaping teaspoon into water, tea or spritzers 2 times a day. However, it is always important to take 1-2 more glasses of liquid afterwards, as too little liquid intake can lead to unpleasant digestive problems.

Stomach and digestion - natural help for constipation, heartburn or flatulence
The digestive system works indispensably every day and supplies our body with vital nutrients. Many organs are involved in the digestive process, such as the stomach, small and large intestine, liver or gall bladder, all of which mesh like fine cogwheels. If this interaction is right, our digestion usually goes unnoticed.
However, factors such as a high-fat diet, too little exercise or stress can lead to digestive problems. Almost everyone knows from their own experience:
A feeling of fullness, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea or unpleasant flatulence can impair our quality of life to a considerable extent. There are plant substances that can be helpful, for example, against constipation or for active fat digestion.
Tips for good digestion:

- Eat a diet high in fiber with fruits and vegetables
- Avoid flatulent vegetables such as cabbage or onions
- Eat small meals more often

Castor oil - natural help for constipation
In fact, many people struggle with the civilization problem of constipation. Lack of exercise, an unbalanced diet, stress or a change in diet, for example, can lead to intestinal sluggishness or even burdensome constipation. For occasional constipation and bowel sluggishness, castor oil can help.
The castor bean shrub originated in the tropics and subtropics, but is now also found throughout the Mediterranean region. In our gardens, the castor bean shrub is common as an ornamental plant under the name "miracle tree" or "Christ palm". The valuable castor oil is obtained from the seeds of the spiny capsule fruits by gentle cold pressing.
Castor oil has a very strong taste, which can be avoided by taking it in capsule form with 100% natural active ingredients. The easy dosage option makes castor oil laxative capsules a pleasant digestive aid. Depending on the amount of castor oil capsules taken, the laxative effect occurs more quickly.

In case of constipation lasting longer than 1 week, consult a doctor. For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. Status 07/2014
Turmeric - root with digestive properties
The turmeric plant (Curcuma longa L.) belongs to the ginger family and is a perennial herb with thick-fleshed root tubers that requires a hot, humid climate and plenty of water. Its distribution extends from India through Indonesia and Thailand to China. Today, the main cultivation areas are in India. There, the plant has been used as a spice for over 4000 years and is considered sacred. Turmeric is also traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine.
In our country, the herbaceous plant is also known as "turmeric". It is used as a spice or coloring agent as an alternative to the expensive saffron. Turmeric gives curry powder its typical yellow color, but it is also used to color mustard or some sausages.
However, turmeric is not valued for its coloring properties. The spice plant is particularly known for its digestive properties in high-fat dishes.
Artichokes - for active fat digestion
The artichoke belongs to the thistle family and is a useful plant from the Mediterranean region with a very long tradition. Already in ancient times, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans have appreciated the delicacy vegetable. Many stories are known, according to which the ancient Romans should have revived their digestion after the infamous carousals by artichokes.
Nowadays, the exact effect of the artichoke is known. The natural ingredients of this gourmet vegetable have a positive effect on cholesterol levels and active fat digestion. The cynarin contained in artichokes stimulates the liver to secrete more bile. Bile is involved in the digestion of all fats. It breaks down fats into fine droplets that are easier to digest. Gastrointestinal movement is promoted and digestive complaints such as constipation or bloating can be prevented.
Our tip: Why not eat the pleasantly bitter-tasting artichoke as an appetizer or in a salad?
