For some time it was said that washing products could be dispensed with in baby care. In the meantime, however, we know that washing only with water dries out the baby's skin. In order to maintain the natural balance of the skin, sensitive baby skin therefore also needs particularly mild washing & bath products.

What is so special about baby skin?
Baby skin is much thinner than adult skin and at the same time the horny layer is looser structured and less resistant. The barrier effect of the horny layer against harmful substances is thus less developed and the skin reacts more sensitively to environmental influences.
The natural protective acid mantle of the skin only forms in newborns after a few weeks and regenerates much more slowly in older children than in adults. It has an important task to keep bacteria and pathogens away.
The horny layer of children's skin has a higher moisture content than that of adults. At the same time, however, sebum production in children is still greatly reduced. As a result, baby and child skin is only covered with a very thin water-fat film and can dry out easily. In addition, the protection against cold and injuries is lower.
Why baby care products at all?
After birth, the baby's skin must quickly adapt to a new environment. After many months in the amniotic fluid, it must now adapt to the air and external environmental influences.

Außerdem empfinden es manche Babys als unangenehm und reagieren ängstlich, wenn ihnen das Wasser ins Gesicht läuft. Daher möchten wir Ihnen mit unserem Ratgeber eine Hilfestellung und Tipps an die Hand geben, um die Haarwäsche als schöne Pflegeroutine zu gestalten, die Ihnen und Ihrem Baby viel Freude bereitet.Wie oft sollten die Haare von Babys und Kleinkindern gewaschen werden?
Die einfachste Möglichkeit ist, die Babyhaare gleich beim Baden zu waschen. Ein regelmäßiges Bad, 2- bis 3-mal pro Woche (gerne auch öfter), können Sie mit Ihrem Baby genießen. Dabei brauchen Sie nicht jedes Mal die Haare zu waschen, meist reicht dies 1- bis 2-mal in der Woche aus.
Welche Tipps gibt es, um das Haarewaschen möglichst angenehm zu gestalten?
Bei den ganz Kleinen reicht es aus, mit dem Waschlappen einfach über die Kopfhaut und somit über die Haare zu fahren.
- Halten Sie Ihr Baby so, dass das Wasser nicht ins Gesicht läuft.
- Zum Anfeuchten und Ausspülen könnten Sie einen Waschlappen oder eine Kinder-Gießkanne verwenden.
- Falls Ihr Baby schon Haare hat: Verwenden Sie ein mildes Babyshampoo und massieren Sie es sanft in die Kopfhaut Ihres Lieblings ein.
- Nach dem Ausspülen die Haare bitte nicht trocken rubbeln, sondern sanft trocken tupfen.
- Babyhaare sollten nur mit einer weichen Babybürste gekämmt werden, die die empfindliche Babyhaut nicht reizen, sondern sanft massieren.
Was sollte bei der Wahl eines Shampoos beachtet werden?
Das Baby- oder Kinder-Shampoo sollte besonders mild und schonend sein und die empfindliche Kopfhaut nicht belasten. Ein augenmildes Shampoo brennt nicht, wenn doch einmal etwas ins Auge gelangt. Für Kleinkinder gibt es auch spezielle Shampoos für leichtes Kämmen. Vor allem Kinder mit längerem Haar werden dankbar sein, wenn es nicht ziept.
